I provide consultation, short-term and long-term psychological therapy to help people with their emotional wellbeing,  sexual wellbeing and relationship issues.

I describe myself as a very good generalist for working with adult psychological wellbeing.  Alongside working with adult mental health diffiuclties, I specialised in working with a range of sex related difficulties: vaginismus, dyspareunia, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, anorgasmia, anhedonia, sexual confidence and compulsive sex behaviour.  I have siginifcant experience of working with people who have been sexually assaulted.

I have nine years of experience working in Social Services and the NHS. This includes for three years working in severe and enduring mental health services in South Wales and for three years as Principal Clinical Psychologist in HIV and Sexual Health and also CFS/M.E. at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.  I have six years expereince working in private practice.

I am a Clinical Psychologist.

I also work with people who are at risk of contracting or transmitting HIV and other STIs such as Hep C and Herpes.  This includes managing depression, disclosure, and adherence to medication, cognitive impairment, and relationship stress.

Whilst my training includes skills in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), I have a strong preference for systemic and narrative therapies and  psychodynamic models, as they allow for greater understanding of the complexity of each individual situation and increases skills in formulating ways to understand and address potential barriers to change.

I have additional specialist experience in working with people with CFS/M.E.  This includes specific knoweldge of PACE. I am happy to provide psychological support to individuals, couples and families living with this.

I am a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health Professions Council  (HPC)

I have lots of experience working with same-sex, transgender and alternative couples.  Individuals, couples and families from all genders and sexualities are welcome.

Having spent several years working in specialist HIV units I have a good knowledge of working with people living with HIV and welcome anyone living with HIV as an individual, couple or family.
